Lynn Alumni, Kevin Studer, is Making his Dreams Come True
Since graduating in 2015, Kevin Studer has moved on to do amazing things like getting two masters degrees, working in the admissions office at Lynn, and most recently, moving to California to pursue a career in television production.
Throughout his time at Lynn, Studer was very involved with Knights of the Round Table, student admissions, and even served as editor-in-chief of iPulse. Through these extracurriculars, he was able to build meaningful connections with his peers that lead him to where he is today. Following graduation, Studer worked as a Campus Visit Coordinator for Lynn from 2017-2021.
“All of my professional experience before getting into the entertainment industry was with Lynn,” Studer states. “That’s why I love being able to do stuff for Lynn still, because it’s been such a big part of my life and my background.”
Although Studer enjoyed his job as a Campus Visit Coordinator, he realized it wasn’t fulfilling him creatively. After visiting his friend and former classmate, Brooke Rudisill, who worked for Illumination Studios in California, he decided to make the move in 2021 and pursue a career in entertainment. Because of the connections he made in the Office of Admissions as a student and employee, he was able to continue working for Lynn remotely until he found his dream job. His first job offer as a production assistant on Netflix’s ‘Bling Empire’ came the week he finished working for Lynn.
“It’s actually because of Lynn that I got that job,” Studer says. “One of my best friends had a friend who was a producer on Bling Empire so she connected us and he offered me the job.”

Since working on ‘Bling Empire’, Studer has also worked on other shows such as Amazon’s ‘The Ride’, Bravo’s ‘Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake’, and ‘Claim to Fame’ which is hosted by Kevin and Frankie Jonas. Majority of the jobs he has been offered have been because of connections he has made in the past.
“I got the job on Claim to Fame because a Producer from Welcome to Crappie Lake reached out saying they had an opening on the show,” Studer stated. “I only knew the show because it was hosted by The Jonas Brothers but I ended up interviewing and booking the role.”

Although it may have taken Studer a bit to move to California and pursue his dream of working in entertainment, the connections he made throughout his time at Lynn have helped him achieve amazing things. He also emphasizes the importance of not stressing out about future jobs, because things will often work out in the end if your work hard and take chances.
“I was never an avid reality TV watcher and I really wanted to get into scripted television shows,” says Studer. “But I’m kind of glad it worked out for me in that way because I love working in reality now and taking my journalism experience and throwing it into reality works really well.”
In the last several years, Studer’s hard work, dedication, and willingness to take risks have allowed him to achieve his dreams; which is exactly what Lynn strives for its students to do following graduation.
